A self-taught artist, blessed from birth with a talent and gift of creativity through self-expression, while working with all forms of media.
I created this body of work by picking up not only a pencil and paper, but also used almost all the tools an artist can work from. Including, but not limited to; pen and ink, crayons, colored pencils, markers, watercolors, oil paints, acrylic paints, spray paints, and the list goes on. However, I chose acrylic paint as the main star and focal point. All other pieces of art in this body of work stem from and are in support of the original 3D Acrylic painting. All could not have been created without the presence of a star piece. I believe acrylic paint is one of the more friendly and forgiving mediums used for artistic creation. Acrylic paint has this amazing ability to take on the form of skin when processed and dried properly. In turn, allowing me to create the perfect process and environment for creating flat sections, multiple folds, and crumpled sections all combined to give the illusion of fabric attached to a piece of studio canvas. Simply put, I believe the 3D Acrylic paintings are a part of my heart and soul that shine through. Please enjoy!

Each fold or folds found in the 3D painting act as a representation of said layer or layers indicating some sort of hidden meaning and or untold truth a person holds off on sharing with another from jump and or over a long period of time. Therefore, the folds also simulate the many things we as individuals may never fully understand of ourselves, let alone disclose to another, until we decided to uncover said layer and or layers of the self. Hence, just like people, the 3D painting hides many aspects under each fold or layers of folds expressed through complex thought. Also telling a story from the perspective of people hiding things from others to protect the self, a group, and or a whole. Not to mention, may never be unveiled depending on the individual, group, and or a whole, especially when someone attempts to peel back said layer or layers, regarding specific topics of issue and or topics of discussion, be it on a singular internal level and or on a global societal level. Whether or not people decide to get to know each other or not, is equally irrelevant here, because whether or not each of us interacts with one another, a group, and or a whole, we all still exist in a shared human experience. Making for beautiful works of art. Therefore, some 3D paintings will not have a story to disclose but must be viewed at the most complex singularity form of existence, such as, simply existing as a human being who cares not to share and simply exist. For example, "Chaos Part 2" (on display here), which will never be show in its flat form, but speaks for itself. Meaning, not too many of us will, if ever share the exact details of the chaos that makes up our daily life. However, most 3D paintings involve a story line from either a specific human encounter or from a perspective of internal thought based on observations of others and or of the self.
At some point in life each of us has had to earn a person's trust, respect, love, or a combination of more than just one thing in order to peel back the many layers each of us have when interacting with one another, using body language, verbal speak, visualization, emotionality, physical touch and or a mix of all of the above. These same, let's call them layers, also hold or hide some aspect of each individual’s life experience and or belief they formed of themselves, another person, or society as a whole. For example, "Distorted View" (on display here), which will only be shown in its flat form and represents a distorted view of oneself. Meaning, not too many of us will, if ever see ourselves from the perspective of, say a stranger and or a loved one. Unless we choose to disclose how we truly view our self in the mirror. Therefore, openly creating a distorted view of and or for one another.
When people interact with one another or choosing not to interact at all. And, how those same interacts and or lack of interactions shape the world we live in today. The overall impact each of us have on one another, be it, overtly or covertly is felt at some point in time. For example, "Love.3" (on display here), which clearly says hurt and expresses feelings of hurt in love, also indicating someone said to a loved one "you hurt me." Meaning, in most cases, these told truths we share with one another, still leave a mark on each of us, and or leaves a mark on the human species as a whole on a global scale.
When art and fashion collide, people become walking billboards for artist to showcase their work. Our dresses and such are made from an original acrylic painting. Or, made from multiple acrylic paintings combined, such as, "Alabama Comfort" (on display here), which was made out of left over scraps of acrylic paintings that were either cut, never mounted, etc., but upcycled to display true works of art for the fashion and art lover alike.
